Meet the Bus Crew...

Claire
Claire has been a volunteer at PWPG for several years and stepped into the role of escort Friday lunchtime to help us out and has stayed in that role. Claire has been associated with the group for most of her life and is brilliant with the children and very patient and caring.
The Bus
I have been the PWPG minibus for 6 years now and I enjoy transporting the young children into playgroup. I do enjoy the atmosphere on the bus, with all the singing and laughter, although whistling is frowned on. I am also getting a bit fed up with Mr Tumble singing but the children seem to enjoy him! The conversations can be quite crazy and I know a lot of secrets! It is also nice, when the bus is quiet, as the children sleep from having a fun filled morning. I love seeing the work the children take home, but the glitter does get into all my nooks and crannies!
You have to feel sorry for me as I have to put up with the moans and groans from my crew and the restlessness of the children already on board when they are kept waiting at the pick ups and drop offs. Although I cover a relatively small part of the borough, the first child picked up can have already been on board a long time before I get to you. Please be considerate and be ready early. Plus, I am not best pleased when extra mileage is added to my clock when I turn up at an address to find no one home! I have heard all the excuses over the years, the minibus phone is always on the bus and answered after 8.30 and messages can be left 24/7, please use it or ring Playgroup. Please also inform my crew if you change your contact number, so that if I am sitting in traffic or I am going to be early, you can be contacted. One last moan, please name all coats and bags as the Drivers and Bus Escorts do not always do both runs and some children have the same items, occasionally they do not always get it right, and please leave all toys at home as they can easily get lost during the morning.
The Summer term is my favourite, I love taking all the children on trips to the farm, park and garden centres and hearing them excitingly talking about their adventures on the way back. I hope to stay running for a few more years and enjoy many more adventures.
